Categories of Membership
Full Members: Persons 18 years of age, who have paid the annual subscription, an entrance fee if it applies and any levy applicable. Members in this category are entitled to attend and vote at Annual or Extraordinary General Meetings and enjoy all the indoor and outdoor facilities, as described in 2.5
Honorary Members: Persons who the Committee wish to acknowledge as having rendered exceptional service to the Club, or to the game of golf, or whose distinguished or public service would render their membership of special advantage to the Club.They may be admitted for life or for any definite period, but unless otherwise stated in the Minute Book, on their election, their membership will close at the end of the current term.
Country Members: Persons who are already voting members of another Club, which is affiliated to the Golfing Unions. They shall be required to pay an entrance fee, annual subscription fee and levy (if any) and may take part in such competitions as the relevant Committee decides.
Distance Members: Persons whose permanent home address is more than 75kilometres by road from Youghal. they shall be required to pay an annual subscription. They may take part in such competitions as the relevant Committee decides.
Re-located Past Members: Persons who have been a member of Youghal Golf Club, in any playing capacity, and who have moved, to live outside seventy five (75) kilometres (by road) from Youghal. They do not need to be a member of another golf club. They may take part in such competitions as the relevant Committee decides.
Overseas Members: Persons whose permanent residence is outside Ireland. They shall enjoy the same rights as Country Members, as per 7.5. They shall pay an annual subscription. Such membership shall cease as and when the member comes to reside or work in Ireland. They shall then be entitled to apply for Full Membership, and be treated with priority.
Student Members: Undergraduates and students of all third level colleges or institutions of learning, as the committee may decide, under the age of 25 years. They will pay an annual subscription. Such membership shall cease on September 30th following, graduation or qualification.
Transition Members: Student or Junior Members, who, immediately on relinquishing their category wish to continue to Full Membership. They may remain in this category for 2 years only. In year one, their Annual Subscription Fee shall be one third of the full members annual subscription, and levy (in any) and in year two, it shall be two thirds. They may take part in such competitions as the relevant Committee decides.
Junior Members: Young persons, between the ages of ten (10) and eighteen (18) years of age, at the date of election. They shall remain in this category until September 30th following their 18th birthday. They may apply to the relevant Committee for a handicap and may take part in such competitions as the relevant Committee decides. Members who will be eight years of age or over, on the date of application, and who will be under the care of a Parent or Guardian at all times whilst on the Course or its environments. They will remain in this category until 30th September following their tenth birthday or have attained the necessary standard, at the discretion of the Junior Section Committee.
Pavilion Members: Persons who wish to enjoy the facilities of the Clubhouse only.
